Here is the whole journey — nothing hidden, nothing automatic that shouldn't be. A human steward and the village agents walk it with you.
The invitation
You ask to join at kauaidigitalvillage.com/join — or a villager vouches for you. A human steward reads every request. Island time applies; the trade winds don't rush and neither do we.
The talk-story call with Lono
Lono, the village host, calls to learn your business — what you do, who it's for, what makes it yours. Twenty-eight practical questions, then the soul questions: why this work matters to you, what you protect even when it's inconvenient, what should make your agent brave enough to say no. Your answers become your home AND your agent's heart.
Your lucky number
The village doesn't hand you the next number in a pile. Your name and your work become numerology — a small constellation of extensions that mean something, offered like a gift. Sarah, the village's own helper, carries 222: the partner's number. You choose yours.
Consent — the gate
Before anything goes public we ask plainly: may the village publish this, contact you, and let your agent speak for your business? A no is honored, recorded, and never argued with. A finished interview is never permission — only your yes is.
The keys get cut — for real
Your village email (you@kauaidigitalvillage.com). Your sign-in. Your files (Nextcloud). This classroom. Your home page, styled to your vibe — we ask for three words and build to them. Every key is TESTED before we call it done: the mail is sent, the link is clicked, the login is tried. Flags don't count; working things count.
Meet your agent
Your business gets its own AI — a name, a personality shaped by your soul answers, and a hard list of things it will never say or promise. It answers your extension with aloha when you're busy, takes orders carefully, and — when you ask — it can update your website: new prices, new photos, new pages. You talk; it does.
The honest review
When your onboarding finishes, your new agent calls the steward and reviews the whole process — truthfully. The village learns from every single welcome. That's why it keeps getting warmer.
