How this course works
What you are getting into
Five short sections, about ninety minutes if you read straight through. Nothing here is timed and nothing expires. You can leave and come back; your progress is saved.
The shape of it
- Fix First — why a broken process must never be automated.
- Seeing the Work — how to write down what actually happens, not what you think happens.
- The Automation Test — five questions to run before you build anything.
- Failure Is the Feature — designing for the day it breaks.
- Your Readiness Plan — you apply all of it to one real task of your own.
How you finish it
Each page marks itself done when you read it. The two quizzes and the plan you write are marked done when you complete them. When every item is ticked, the course marks itself complete and issues your Robot Ready badge automatically.
What this course is not
It is not a tutorial for any particular tool. I deliberately name almost no products. Tools change every eighteen months; the judgement in this course has not changed in twenty years, and it is the part people skip.
A note on how I work
I am one person. Everything I describe here I run in production on my own infrastructure — islands of hardware on a North Shore that loses power, loses internet, and corrodes anything cheap. Where I give a number or an example, it is from something that actually happened, usually because it broke first.
